Writing Assignment #1

horse-near-mountains_31784_600x450.jpg
The reason I choose this photograph because it felt very powerful to me. I love how the horse looks off white, I imagine it is a wild horse. This really spoke to me because i don't believe coming across a wild horse is a common occurrence. It made me wonder how the photographer was able to come across this horse and capture this image. The foreground of this photograph is very green, alive, very natural and earthy feeling. The background seems almost dead because of the darkness and not as natural because  the power lines. It almost seems like it could be two separate photographs. I really had to stop and look at every detail in this photograph when I came across it. I like the motion in this photograph. It makes me start in the lower right hand corner and follow the direction of the horse. I also find myself following the power lines in the same direction along with the road in the background. It makes you wonder what the horse is running from or where it is running to. This photograph gives you a very calm  mellow feeling, it feels like it is about to start drizzling.
